Which agent reads it

Each tool keeps rules in a different file. Open one for a snippet and a recommended style.

• Cursor

  Put DESIGN.md at the repo root and tell Cursor rules to read it before writing UI.

• Claude Code

  Keep DESIGN.md at the root, SKILL.md in the skills folder, and name both in CLAUDE.md.

• Codex

  Codex reads AGENTS.md. Tell it that all UI must follow DESIGN.md.

• Stitch

  Stitch imports DESIGN.md directly. The file needs YAML front matter and the official eight sections.

• Windsurf

  Keep the same DESIGN.md at the root and tell Windsurf rules to read it first.
